@mithras4
start one! (when in rome!)
@Nano Manannan
Yeah, IP spoofing won’t be for everyone though. I have a feeling Eircom themselves will actively pursue this one, making it v difficult for all but the geeky 1337 to torrent.
However, necessity is the mother of invention so I expect it won’t be too long before some bright spark figures out an easy way to bypass the legality of it all – then a front end will get stuck on to it and we’ll all be sharing again!!!

Good post highlighting the problems with this move over at DigitalRights.ie (and lots of good references linked) with a commenter pointing to another on TorrentFreak.com
Anyone reckon they should knock 10% off this year’s picnic tickets, in view of the parlous state of everyone’s finances?
Good digital rights article – and they’re right the internet is abuzz about this: -

It sounds like such an Irish solution though. I think Eircom will regret it though if someone has the bottle to contest a disconnection under European legislation. Here’s hoping . . .
@mithras4
Allo Mithras,
As someone who will probably be playing The Picnic this year, if your tickets are 10% cheaper then it follows that my fee will be down 10% on last years
Now that’s a double edged sword thingy right there.
@Cygnus Atratus
I wouldnt want that to happen old chap. Besides, might be doing some stuff there this year myself. Perhaps they could shave a few quid off the headliners bill. They probably forked out silly money for the Pistols last time.
